Matt Larsen was named the associate athletic director for business operations and administration at Stony Brook in January of 2007. Larsen, who had served as the assistant business manager since 1998, is responsible for all aspects of the athletic business office, including the budgets for each of Stony Brook's 20 Division I sports. He coordinates all team travel, transportation, lodging and officials for home and away contests and oversees the equipment room and summer camp operations. In December of 1999, Larsen helped create the Summer Camp at Stony Brook, a day camp that has seen its enrollment grow to nearly 2,500 since 2000. Larsen also spent five years as the athletic ticket manager, where he was responsible for creating the ticketing program, while overseeing the day-to-day running of the ticket program for football, men's and women's basketball and men's lacrosse. Upon graduation in 1996, Larsen continued his education at SB, earning his master's in athletic administration in 1998 while serving as a graduate assistant for both football and facilities. A three-year starter at wide receiver for the football team, Larsen earned GTE/CoSIDA District I Academic All-District honors as a senior in 1995. Larsen resides in Rocky Point with his wife, Kristen, and their two children, Emily and Matthew. |
