Bayamon, Puerto Rico - Former Stony Brook men's soccer players Gadiel Figueroa '08 and Chris Megaloudis '06 both played significant minutes in Puerto Rico's stunning tie of heavily favored Honduras in front of 8,000 fans at Bayamon Stadium on June 14.

Figueroa, who started both of Puerto Rico's qualifying matches against Honduras, helped his country to a surprising 2-1 lead of Honduras.

Megaloudis, who also suits up for the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer and played against the New England Revolution on June 18, scored a goal in the 31st minute to tie the game at 1.

Despite the tie, Puerto Rico was eliminated from qualifying from World Cup competition, losing on a 6-2 aggregate.
