Wijeratne, Rodolfi Earn All-America East Honors in Tennis

May 1, 2008

Cambridge, Mass. - Senior Sandy Wijeratne (Melbourne, Australia) and sophomore Paola Rodolfi (Asuncion, Paraguay) earn All-America East honors today when the league released its list of annual award winners. The pair was honored as the first team all-conference No. 2 doubles team.

Stony Brook's top doubles team all season, Wijeratne and Rodolfi combined to go 9-5 overall, getting all of their wins in No. 1 doubles matches where they finished 9-2. It was the fourth All-America East honor for Wijeratne, who finished her career at Stony Brook as the school's all-time leader in singles and doubles wins. It was the second all-conference honor for Rodolfi, who was last season's America East Rookie of the Year.
